Officers from the Shelton Police Department arrested Torrington resident Christopher Galvin on Wednesday on charges that include second-degree sexual assault, risk of injury to a minor and enticing a minor by computer following an investigation into a 13-year-old girl he met online.
Galvin was first arrested by police in Shelton on Jan. 16 this year as part of the investigation, and he was initially charged with sexual assault and harassment.
According to police, Galvin “is accused of having an ongoing sexual relationship with the female juvenile victim over an extended period of time.” The investigation determined that he met the teenager when she was 13. Galvin is due to appear in Derby Superior Court this week to answer the charges.
